Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai called upon relevant Ministries and agencies to implement action plans for Vietnam’s Industrialization Strategy (VIS) which is a part of the Vietnam- Japan cooperation framework.
The ministries concerned are Finance; Science and Technology; Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs; Foreign Affairs; Education and Training; Natural Resources and Environment; Construction; Industry and Trade; Agriculture and Rural Development; Planning and Investment; and Transportation, as well as the State Bank of Vietnam.
VHS gives priority to sectors such as electronics, agricultural machinery, agricultural and seafood processing, ship building, environment and energy saving, and the automobile and spare parts manufacturing industry.
These sectors are hoped to boost technological innovations and productivity which would improve global competitiveness of local firms. The Ministry of Planning and Investment oversees the implementation of the action plan and conducts research on potential products or areas for cooperation with Japan. Besides, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Finance will assist in finding support from foreign partners and enterprises for projects.
An action plan for the development of automobile and spare parts of manufacturing industry will be finalized in March 2015.
